viento

 este viento
    de hojas secas
    y olvido,
que llena la casa
    de tiempo
    y ausencia.

butterflies

butterflies in my stomach

it was nearly october and I was coming home on the bus when suddenly it occurred to me that spending a day by myself at the museum would be nice. so I did. there I was a couple of hours later with nothing more than my camera and that little thrill you get whenever you act spontaneously with effortless ease. I used to get that feeling on a regular basis.. I've never thought about it but it must had been somewhere between my twenty-two and twenty-four years and the glimpse of a routine lifestyle that I've always feared that switched my regular basis of spontaneity for an occasional one. now that I knew, I had to do something about it.. and I hope I can do it, one day at a time. to feel that little thrill everyday, those little butterflies in my stomach.

mirada

I was spending a lovely afternoon at a local park, surrounded by other ducks by the lake when suddenly this particular one immediately drew my attention. as if it was expecting me to watch the duck slowly moved his head and hid his beak into his feathers in such delicate way and we both stood still.. that's the story behind this picture.

grandma

my grandma sitting in the twilight. as my grandparents tend to be camera shy (not that I blame them as I am myself quite camera shy too), I've been trying to photograph them before they notice me. sometimes when the time is right, I even take a couple more pictures. I have faith that they will eventually get used to being in front of my camera and I will be able to capture their everyday life.. full of afternoon conversations under the sun, silly jokes and lots of joy. I wish I was as fortunate as them and grow old with the love of my life as happily as they have.

sister under the sun

sunny afternoon with my sister. everytime I get into nature,  I remind myself how much I had been longing for it. even if it means spending a couple of hours at the local botanical garden or walking under the trees.

sister

on a sunny afternoon with my one and only sister, one day before her birthday.

the weather has been so unstable lately.. I usually don't mind the rain but I'm longing for sunny days as I'm photographing my sister this weekend. I hope I get lucky.

snow ball

I've never been the type of person who collects anything religiously.. well, I did when I was a kid and bazooka bubble gums used to come wrapped in those teeny tiny comics.. I remember having a desk drawer full of those comics. Whenever I opened it to take a look at my precious collection, the whole room smelled like bubble gum. I think that If I could treasure a collection of anything now, among other things, snowballs would definitely be on my list. They've always fascinated me.. those tiny worlds full of snow and glitter.

beanie

beanie on me. it's been spring for over a month now.. but every now and then I feel like autumn has set in my head. rainy days like today don't make it any easier.
